A British father of two is stranded in a Mexican state hospital after suffering a heart attack while on a holiday of a lifetime after his insurance company refused to pay for his treatment.
Trevor Dealey, 59, collapsed on May 11 in Cancun and is still in a critical condition.
His children Megan and Oliver have flown from the UK to be at his bedside and have launched a GoFundMe to help pay for his bills - which have already passed £80,000.
Worse still, Mr Dealey, who is from Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire has since developed sepsis and is in a critical condition.
In the Go Fund Me appeal, Ms Dealey wrote: 'He got treatment straight away but has been in hospital in Mexico since then and has developed an infection and needed blood dialysis and is now on a ventilator. We have been hit with huge medical bills, insurance won’t pay out and there is simply no way we can just pay these and he is likely to need further treatment. If there’s anything you can do to help, it would be really appreciated.

Mr Dealey, left, was on holiday with his partner Sarah Cleveland. The couple were due to return home tomorrow after their two-week break

So far the GoFundMe page started by his daughter Megan has raised more than £13,500
'He is in critical condition and the hospital are demanding payments. It is an incredibly stressful time for us all. Me and my brother have took an emergency flight out to be with his partner to support her during this difficult time. Everything is up in the air at the moment with flights, hotels etc… we just want him healthy and home.'
So far, the family has raised more than £13,500 from 366 donations.
Averil Longhurst, Trevor's sister, told MailOnline: 'This is such a terrible situation for the family. His son and daughter Oliver and Megan have flown to Mexico to be at his bedside.
'He is a fit and healthy man. He is a groundsman for the local football team so he is very active.
'He went on the dream holiday with his partner Sarah Cleveland for two weeks. They were due to return tomorrow. We do not know what is going to happen now.
'At the moment, he has moved to another hospital. The last update was that he was still in intensive care and was being treated for sepsis and is on a ventilator.
'We just want to get him home as quickly as possible and as soon as he is able to travel.'
'I'm 5,000 miles away from my brother and his children. If it happened at home we would be able support each other and make each other a cup of tea. It's very stressful being so far away.'
'TUI have been very good. But we are having problem with the travel company, Admiral. They say they don't cover this. I don't understand what the problem is.'
'All I know is I have friends who are going abroad shortly and they are examining their travel insurance policies with a magnifying glass.
'People normally don't read the small print, but you have to. Otherwise you could be left stuck abroad like Trevor. Everyone should check their travel insurance.'
MailOnline has approached TUI and Admiral Insurance for a comment.
